Slowing It Down For Summer

Hi All,

With summer about to be in full bloom, I’m getting ready to head out of town for a change of scenery, some fresh air, and to slow things down a little bit. This year has been super busy for me in the studio, from getting ready for two big art shows at Round Top, and a show in Oklahoma City at the sweetest gallery called the Birdhouse Gallery, a show at Twelve Thirty Four in Dallas and finished off the season with a pop-up event at Porche in Gravine with some amazing and talented women. All back to back.

It took me a few weeks to get back into the swing of things and into the studio again. I’m just now wrapping up my last commission for the season, and I’m preparing to work on some new, smaller pieces. I’m thinking mostly abstracts for May, I’ll be painting in earth tones with some splashes of fluorescent pinks and chartreuse.

My goal is to have no plans, really, other than walking to the coffee shop each morning, enjoying the scenery, visiting with the locals, and painting if the mood strikes. I hope whatever your plans are this summer, you find some time to slow down, enjoy friends and family, and also find some quiet time just for you.

I’ll be on my way to Leadville, CO shortly!

Xx, Sonya
